It all depends on the
actions of the larger corporations. In some instances I think yes and in others
I think no. A “Washington consensus” that emerged allowed free trade and
privatization, allowing major businesses like Coke and McDonald’s to run in
Communist countries. Instances like this should be subject to revocation. Even
though these corporations are likely not pro-communism, it does not help their
case that they have arrangements with Communist countries. We may lose some
giant food brands, but there are many other options society has when it comes
to food-consumerism.
